Dells Lake is a beautiful 109-acre, spring-fed lake located in Bayfield County, Wisconsin, featuring a maximum depth of 42 feet. Anglers will find an abundance of Largemouth Bass and Panfish in its waters, making it a prime spot for fishing enthusiasts.
There is no public access to the lake, as the entire shoreline and surrounding acreage around Dells Lake is privately owned. On one side of the lake are Birchwood Lodge, originally a logging camp, and Cedar Lodge, built in the 1980s. Both are available for rent from a family that has owned them for nearly a century. Across the lake sits an almost never-used rustic hunting cabin belonging to a family that owns significant acreage and estates on various lakes in Northern Wisconsin, which they rarely visit.
Most days and nights, the only creatures inhabiting the lake and its shores are decidedly non-human, including loons, largemouth bass, panfish, ducks, geese, swans, otters, cranes, osprey, bald eagles, deer, elk, raccoons, chipmunks, squirrels, and more! Occasionally, a black bear may wander through the woods, but they are typically more frightened of humans than we are of them!
